jizzybizzy Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 my current (not so) sealed box came apart the other day while bumpin... and i need a new box. ive been wanting a ported box for some time now but... im lazy and im broke so i dont have a lot of time to build a box, nor do i have a lot of money to pay someone to build one for me. soo i went to ebay. i have 2 15" RE se subs in my car now. my trunk is rather small (2005 saturn ion) so i dont have a lot of space to throw in a 6cuft-8cuft box like it requires... but i would prefer both 15s in there. the boxes on ebay are 2cubes for a single 15 and 4cubes for 2 15s... how bad will this actually be for my subs? will they be sufficating? what if i fill it with polyfill or is that only for sealed enclosures? any help would be greatly appreciated FACTS: SUBS: RE Audio SE Ported: compact optimal 3.0@35Hz 4.0@34Hz Car: 2005 Saturn Ion you ain't been bizzy til you've been wit jizzy. Toone Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Building your own box wont take that long you can even get all your cuts done at home depot just pray they cut straight lol. the price of building your own box isnt that expensive $26 for wood. $4 for glue $3 for screws and thats all you really need

Chris from Mi Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 building a box is really easy, and if designed right will pwn a prefabbed. Get the dimensions of a box and find someone who can get the designs for you (might cost a few buck but worth it), then take the dimensions to home depot, they have a panel saw, last time i went there they didnt charge me for extra cuts (i think its like 50 cent per) then go home, and assemble. A drill is a must, and now a simple drill is cheap, i found a cordless black and decker for $5.
