ok i think i might have found my answer here it goes since i am running 2/0 i should have a 400 amp fuse up front then another 400amp fuse in the rear right before the battery and a 300amp fuse for each amp

since my amps are dual power and ground inputs i should have a 150 amp fuse on each input totaling 300amps right?

so this would be the lay out

alt----[200amp fuse]------battery------[400 amp fuse]------[400ampfuse]--battery---[300amp fuse]--amp

For 2ga wire you should use either between 200-250a fuse, anything within that range will do.

your 2ga wire is very highly unlikely to carry 400a of current, especially at that distance, I'd imagine the wire would catch fire before that much power was carried across it. The whole point of fusing that lead is to prevent fires. I'd suggest a 250a fuse max for 2ga wire.

the wire i have is 00awg i though it was 2/0 but i might be wrong

ok just looked it up and yes it is 2/0awg wire or 00

not 2awg so would i be correct with using a 300 amp fuse since that is all i can find

before going any further, find out what size your wire is
