The coating on Neo helps a lot. A lot of neo can be purchased with a higher temp coating

And neo does lose power at HALF the heat ferrite does, in fact more than half.

I know ferrite motors, you can BBQ them to separate the magnets, top plate, and back plate, and the magnets will be very very weak, and thats about 450-500 deg max core temp

I think neo loses its magnetism(over time) closer to 150-180deg

i think that is the reasoning for the new DC armored coils ^...

Ya from what i am told this lv6 subs in not neo. Which is fine by me because it will probably be very close in SPL to the leading neo motored subs out there. Plus i would never want to daily drive a neo sub, thats like burning 100 dollar bills. lol

i would guess the current level 5 motors would be good for the level 6 maybe just a little bit more for hell of it but the main difference would probably be the larger coil and 10 inch spiders and the new basket required for the spiders if it has neos i would still get it.

The new motor will be larger diameter then the lv5. I have told Rusty before he should have just machined a few of the lv5 motors out to work with a 4" coil and see what they could do. That lv5 is a good SPL platform, and i bet she would have been much loud with a 4" coil, but this new lv6 is going blow it away!!! But you already know this TJ. ;)

Ain't that the truth! I don't even know how many 16 year old kids have came in bull shitting how they are ordering 2 18" BTL's and want a box built for their 89 cavalier or their 96 saturn. I get real rediculous real quick with prices for them :spiteful:
