Performing Uniform Clamp Test on all Sundown Class-D Amps

I'm dying to see what the 3500D does. I hooked mine up at 2Ω yesterday and it was considerably louder than my Orion HCCA-D5000 that was running .5Ω and my gain was only set to 1/4 of the way up.

HU: Pioneer

Highs: 2X 4X6"s, 2X 3.5"s, 4X 5.25" comps, Q-Logic kicks, and a Sundown SAX-125.2

Subs: 4 Nightshade 15s and Strapped SAZ-3500Ds <---Sundown FTW good.gif

Electrical: dual DC Power 320s (ordered) and 2 D3400s up frt and 4 D2700s in the back

These are not necessarily definitive tests on the amps.

All applications are different and I could have probably squeezed more out of an amp here or there... but for the sake of this test I just set the gain knobs to physically 1/2 way up.

Just a rough guide to show what the amps can do!

I may go back one day and do an SPL comparison as well -- as we have seen up to 1 dB increase from the 3000D to the 3500D even though the power test doesn't seem to indicate as much. With the SPL portion I would sit down and tweak knobs until I got maximum SPL per amp.

nice testing jacob. glad to see someone actually do in car testing. shoulda charged the batts in between i could see each voltage drop per amp. but dont ur amps have regulated power supplies anyway so shouldnt matter much anyway

I gave the alt some time to charge them up between amps and between power and output voltage testing -- it would take me a few days to fully charge them on the charger between each amp :) Just a rough guide so I'm not that worried about every last watt humanly possible :)

They are un-regulated - more voltage = more power
