I must say that is an awesome looking box, I am really into the way you curve the MDF, i have never seen anything like it. I just have a question and it may be a dumb one, but when ever you make those rounded bends in the MDF, how do you know what distance to put between the lines and how many lines are needed to complete the required length you are trying to achieve?

Build in progress:

Kenwood DNX890HD

Rockford Fosgate White wolf RCA's

2 Rockford Fosgate T400.4 on RF fanatic q components (6.5 in the kick, 6.5 in the front doors, 5.25 in rear doors)
2 Rockford Fosgate T2500's on sub

1 Fi car audio Team 15 D1

XS Power D3400 and three D975's in the rear

Mechman Elite 370

Stinger power connections and cable

Thanks.

As for the curves. I model it out on Sketch-Up and see where the straight lines of the panel start and stop for that kerf and mark on the boards where the cuts need to start/stop..

Then I started cutting every .5" until I get to the other mark on the board, unless youre doing extreme bends then this is plenty. Now, if you want to have perfect kerf widths that bend together seamlessly, some math is invloved.

You would have to subtract the inside radius of the curve on the board (on Sketch-up) from the outside radius and find the difference between the two. Then you would have to devide by your blades width...then this number would be the # of cuts you'd need to take away enough material for the bend to be possible...then do the math for the spacing needed between each cut to get that # of cuts within that space evenly. It's more work, but if youre a perfectionist, that'd be the way to do it..lol
