reexplorer Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 i am new to this and have not heard an mt or a xxx in person ,but which would be louder 2 12 re mts or 1 15 re xxx? i currently have 2 re sr 12s but blew one so i figured i would upgrade.
Guest Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 the MT and XXX's are very different in design. the MT is more of an SPL woofer and the XXX is more of a SQ woofer.

The MT's will hands down get WAY louder, music or burp, and they will sounds pretty good on music too. If you want LOUD and LOW, get the MT's. Mine were very loud off 3,000 watts each, but still slapped on 1,700 watts each. My choice would be the 2 MT 12's 100%. Official Scores at the Dash. and YES. EricR Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 MT's hands down. xxx is more for sql. it will most def sound better than the mt's but the mt's will get way louder. i had a mt 18 in a 9 cu. foot box tuned to 31 hz in my tahoe on a us2000x and it was awesome to say the least. i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
