EPiCxKYTv Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 So I have a 1989 Chevy S-10. Currently I have a 12 inch sub in a nice box. It hits okay. but I have always been one to want more bass. My amp is only 400 watts and I have been told that if I go too big I will need a better battery and a new altenator. I dont know much about that so I was wondering if I could get some suggestion on amp wattage and alternators. How much does an alternator cost? How many watts will make it so other cars parked next to me can feel my bass?
hdrox88 Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Not to be a jerk, but, have you used the search button much yet? There is a ton of info on this forum to be read. What kind of budget? It depends how much power you want. Also, you could make a huge difference just by building the right box.

EPiCxKYTv Posted July 23, 2009 Author Report Posted July 23, 2009 What kind of budget? It depends how much power you want. I want enough power so when im next to cars either at a stop light or showing it off, They can easily feel the rumble.
Forevrbumpn Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 Thats going to take large speakers, and alot of money I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Well, I plan on putting 2 15" with 1800 rms to them in my ex cab ranger in the next couple months if you want to wait to see what mine can do. But if you want others outside your vehicle to feel it you are gonna need some electrical upgrades for sure.
