m_montero2003
Hi, I'm new to this forum, I have a problem with my RF T3000BD, every time that I raise the volume more than 20 in HU the amp try to go into protection mode and almost shut down (The Light for the protection mode start blinking). The Hu Unit is a Alpine iva-w205, the subs are 2 XXX 12 dual 2.6 Ohm (05 Model), gain are set around half way on the amp (Hu Unit is 2V), 1 Battery next to the amp and a 150 amp alternator. I check the Volt on the amp and when that happend it goes down to 13.6V and the subs read 0.7Ohm (without impedence raise) sence they are wire in parallel, I change it to series config and even disconect one of the sub, so the amp was seen 1.3ohm, but the amp still do the same thing, I got this amp a few weeks a go used from someone in the forum. What can I do, should i send the amp to repair? Thanks.
*1LOWSUV*
Disconnect both speakers and see what happens...If your voltage is holding strong at 13v @ .7 ohms I wouldn't think that would be a problem but it could. With any amp that goes into protection I always start with eliminating things (Speaker connections, RCA's) to try and narrow down the problem. : [email protected]
m_montero2003
The Voltage is always around 14.2, but when a deep bass hit it goes down to like 13.6V never lower than 13Volts(That when the amp does that and cut off the bass), the weir part is that the amp only does that when I go over 20 in the HU, But I'll try that and post back with my finding. Thanks a lot men. Rogers
what type of power and ground wire are you running and what size fuses? could be as simple as a bad ground..or powerwire/fusing not big enough... i had a buddy that had a alpine pdx1000 and was only running a 25 amp fuse between the batteries(dont ask me why) anyways his kinetik in the back would get drained and the amp would cut out at half volume... we upgraded his wires and fuses and he hasnt had a problem since... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/79921-rogers-700-dream-car-update-page-17-a-wall/?p=2335774 93 Saturn SC2My system4 SA-15's Walled 2 Cerwin-Vega S2000's 3 Kinetik Hc2000's Dual 200amp alts. you guys done with the peepee touching contest or do I need to end it? m_montero2003
Hey Thanks for your response, I'm running 1/0 gauge power and ground and I thing I put a 500 amp ANL fuse at front.. what type of power and ground wire are you running and what size fuses? could be as simple as a bad ground..or powerwire/fusing not big enough...i had a buddy that had a alpine pdx1000 and was only running a 25 amp fuse between the batteries(dont ask me why) anyways his kinetik in the back would get drained and the amp would cut out at half volume... we upgraded his wires and fuses and he hasnt had a problem since... Boon
The coils are dual 2's. You just have a shitty multimeter. Duals 2's are usually about 1.4 ohms DCR so when you have 4 of them wired in parallel and you clip it you get 0.35 ohms DCR which is way too low for that amp. 10.x volts fo' life! m_montero2003
It read the same on two multimeter, so I don't thing is that, like I say I try one sub at 1.3 ohm I thing it was and it does the same thin. But thanks a lot for taking the time to responde. The coils are dual 2's.
