FiBTLforlife Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 lol let me jump in here guys and give my opinion on something. why should i use two different meters to measure the results when i have the volume the same, bass knob the same, RPM on truck the same, and playing the same 40hz tone. what is gone be different from clamping the + wire, then going and meauring the +- wires together. so, i know i read the 1/0 that was stupid, but with the other reading i think they are right and i think its kinda pointless to use two different meters at the same time. what is going to change between me doing the two readings? just my opionion, dont take it wrong but if anyone kinda think of a good reason to use two meters let me know. otherwise im doing just one Quote 2 AQ 10'' HDC3 copper subs 1 3500d AQ amp 146.3db on TL with stock electrical in single cab truck at 32hz RESULT: 1st place at comp, 3rd overall out of 20 cars

If so there's nothing wrong wtih that. I've done it myself and then measured with two meters at the same time and there was only a 47 watt difference between the two calculations. I can tell you why there was the difference too, because of the loss of voltage after the first burp. The second burp didn't produce as much as the first and there was a little less power made. Unlike when measuring with both meters at the same time you won't get any loss in a second burp. You're good doing it this way, just remember that your probably making a little more power than what your calculating. In this case I'd say that you are probably over 800 watts and your rise is going to be a little less then what it is too. loburbon Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 ok. thats where the confusion came in. earlier you said you clamped them. and yes what nightshade said is correct about doing them at different times. but the way you put the info in your earlier post was that you just clamped them. thats why i said what i did. i was just taking what you said as literal. and he was correct when he said you use it as an expression. Nightshade Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 If you don't mind me asking what amp was this anyway? 800 + watts at 4 ohms is pretty decent. Just think, if you can wire it down lower than you have it now I'd bet that you'll see at least a 2 db gain.
