marine87
i know that you guys have probably read a million posts on this topic, but i believe my situation is a bit unique. in my expedition i have 2 jl 13w3's in the back, with the 3rd row seat taken out. the subs and ports face the rear hatch. it sounds awesome this way. when i flip the box over and face the subs towards the front of the car, it's not as loud. i plan on buying two more sets of these woofers, but i dont know which way would be the loudest. if anyone has any experience in this area, anything would help. thanks. Guest
every car is different. some cars will be louder with the subs forward and port forward, some with the subs back and port back, subs up port back.

marine87
thanks fellas. so i should get a custom box then? i cant make one myself, so i'll have to find a decent shop away from base... the places around here try to rip you off. creyc
Definitely go with a high quality custom box. Subs up, port back tends to work well in SUVs for daily, and gives you lots of room for subs on top. Make sure you leave enough clearance between the port and the tailgate however! 6" or so should be enough, any less and you'll start killing output. 2001 Chevy Blazer (2) SAZ-3000Ds (2) custom 18" Madmax subs in a second row wall Rockford 600-4 Pioneer PRS components Pioneer P800PRS deck
