Capacitor Wiring

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

ok i noe this is a dumb question, and also most pple don like capacitors, but i need to know.

From what i understand, to wire up a capacitor, assuming u have a 2 amp system that both amps run off the cap.

from what i know, here's how the wire should be ran:

1)battery to capacitor (+)

2) capacitor (-) to chasis

3)another wire from the cap (+) to a fuse distributor block

and then from the fuse distributor block, to the amp+ and etc.

am i rite?

case no2

here's how most of the pple here wire up the capacitors. Assuming a 2 amp system to be run off the cap too. the fuse dist block is a 1 input to 3 output one.

1) battery to fuse distributor block

2) output 1 and 2 goes to the respective amps

3) output 3 goes to the capacitor, and capacitor is grounded to chasis.

Now, for case no.2, the cap will still power up, but will it function properly? i have yet to come across any wiring tutorial online that states it lie that.

my stand is that, if u wanna use a cap in the system, put it either b4 the fuse blk (if its powerin both amps) or b4 the amp, but not at an output of the blk.

What do u guys think

Cheers

I dont think it matters, as long as you have the + of the cap with the +of the batt and amps and the - to the ground.
