how to set-up 8's, 6.5's and tweets in doors?

I realize I ask a shit load of questions when my search turns up unsuccessful but everytime I ask a question and get helpful answers, I save them to a word document so I can just read and learn everything. with that being said...

does anyone know of a site that gives you a basic rundown on how to set this up in each door? as far as wiring, how to have certain speakers play certain hz, etc. or can someone give me a rundown?

or even how to run the rca's when using 1 amp for the tweeters and another for the mids

I plan to run some sort of equalizer and/or processor if that helps with explaining things

I just hate systems that have pure vocal up front and all bass coming from behind. and this will be my first SERIOUS system and I like to do things right the the first time

Hmmm, wow. First off you're going to want to get some velcro or double sided tape. You're going to want to aim each speaker, make sure you have good imaging. Usually a friend helps with you sitting in the car, him angling the speakers.

Crossovers will set up your frequencies. Active with an amp, passive with external crossovers. You can pick up some 3 way crossover boxes on ebay and other sites.

You run y splitters for the multiple RCAs.

EQ or/and processor doesn't help explain things, but it can enhance your SQ.

A good front stage is key, with massive systems guys usually have some good quality speakers up front and subs in back.

Okay so of I ran them as active I still use a crossover, but run the crossover off the amp or speakers straight to the amp? I figured I'd run 1 amp for the tweeters, and another amp for the mids. For that, I would just run a splitter off of the front output? How would I tune it so each speaker only plays certain freq?

take ur rca, if ur headunit only has 1 rca output, or run front n rear to a 3way xover, perferbly a good one, mine will run full active without a xover but it helps if ur headunit does not do this

take front channel rca, put into xover, set xover to x10freq boost, n set roughly at around 2,500khtz n then run to amp, u can use a 4ch amp to run active if u want to, or 2 2ch amps, hook tweets to front channel of 4ch amp, n that has ur high's takein care of

next u want to run ur rear rcas into a 2female, 1 male rca jack (i will explain why later on), then from eq set ur rear channel to bandpass and u can adjust eq acordingly to how u want it to sound, then run rcas to rear input on amp, n run ur 6&1/2's off rear channel of ur 4ch, this only alows the higher midrange to come threw these speakers to help mellow out the sound

next u want to get u a 2ch amp, run a set of rcas from the rear rcas, n plug them in were u have extra space on the y splitts, then run to amp n set as hpf on amp and hook up the 8's to this amp

on ur eq's on the amp ied set the front channel as high as it will go, set rear channel to around 250-300hz, and set other amps eq to around 150-200htz

so you're saying I should run the tweeters off the front rca of the headunit, and the 6.5's and 8's off of a splitter from the rear rca?

another question, if I run a splitter off 1 channel and the deck had 5v preouts, does that mean each signal will only get 2.5V or will they both recieve 5?

edit: will it be easier just to run something like this? http://rs.audiocontrol.com/company_38//DQXS_Manual.pdf look at page 9 of the pdf file (says page 5 on the actual document). would running it like that, but with a splitter from the "front low speakers" output" to a 2 channel amp for the 6.5's and 8's work?

If you really want to run an active setup I would recommend something like a 360 from RF...and you basically will have to figure out what frequencies sound best on what speakers... Keep in mind you don't want to send frequencies to speakers that can't play those, keep it in its range

Or to keep it simple you can just run a 3 way speaker kit up front and a 2 way in the rear on a nice 4 channel.
