Okay, as you can all tell, I am new to this site, so I am not sure if I am in the correct spot for this at the moment, if I am not please get a mod to move it for me

Now onto my question, I was reading somewhere a while back, that if you have your bass knob hooked up to your amp so you can control your bass boost, that it takes away from the complete full output of your amp, and if you unplug you, you will get more power from your amp causing your subwoofers to hit harder.

I tried this out, and to my ears, it sounded like my subs were hitting the same without the knob, as with the knob turned all the way. So I am wonderin if removin the bass knob actually helps out to push more power to your subs, or if the person that posted it up was just an idiot and didn't know what they were talkin about

your gain is probablly turned up too much so its more of a flat response, i have that with some really clipped songs like pole - gorilla zoe. It stays the same (loudness wise) so turn your gain down and try it again

with a correctly set gain you will see more power when clamped on a dmm without the knob... that doesnt mean it will be translated to ur ear that theres more power... it might just be cleaner power
