Thanks! -Ryan You can only get a 1ohm load or a 4 ohm load http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_c...sp?Q=2&I=42 You could wire it to 1ohm and impedence rise and box rise should put it over 2 ohms, but still be careful about it... Boon
When you say "Impedence rise and box rise" What exactly do you mean by this? It means he's quoting some buzz-words he's heard SPL guys using... box rise and impedance rise are the same thing... Because your speakers are an inductive reactive load the impedance will rise above the 'nominal' resistance when the subs are playing. However if you clip it you get no reactance and your amp sees the DC resistance = protect or smoke. Also some frequencies will have very very little rise... like 0.1 ohms... which isn't enough to keep an amp alive at half it's rated impedance. I had a rant about this a while ago (http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...c=46770&hl=), it's one of my pet peeves. Impedance rise will not save you, the amp is rated at 2 ohms for a reason. Wire it to 4 ohms, or get a different amp, or get another amp and run 1 on each sub @ 2 ohms. Edited August 13, 2009 by Boon Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
