Heres my situation:

2 12" FI ssd

1600 hifonics brutus amp

0 gauge wire connecting both

I was screwing in the ground into the amp and the wrench touched the top of the trunk and sparked and blew my fuse in my power wire to my battery. Stupid mistake, but im learning. Replaced the fuse but now my subs are only hitting half a hard , reconnected all my connections, still does it. The amp's protect light isnt on, So i dont know. Why are my subs only hitting half as hard? and when i turn the bass on the stereo up it sounds bad, like dirty bass

looking for a soultion, Thanks

Give us a pic of the guts to see if anything inside the amp is damaged. Do u have a warranty with this amp?

It's been my experience with sparks, that usually it was a big whoops!!! Hope your luck is different than mine!!! I definitely would run it on the subs until you know for sure!!! Straight dc will kill them in a hurry!!!

You were screwing in the ground and got a spark? That doesn't sound right, are you sure you didn't hook it up backwards...

The allen wrench touched the body of the car completing the circuit

The body of the car IS ground. There should be no voltage difference between the body of the car and the ground terminal. No voltage difference = no current = no spark.

yea, check to see if you hooked it up backwards, or check to see if you bumped the amp from LPF to HPF... my buddys amp did the same thing...
