Vista Installed!

i feel ya......his was "just a name" just like mine is. Im sure if he did a few things to it, you guys would both like it better possibly. When you hear the word Alienware you mostly think BADASS but in reality your still getting Nvidia Cards, brand X mainboard (Nvidia in my case) WD Harddrives etc. All the same shit you'd chose if you were building your own. I think the Case itself is about the only thing "Alienware" about it though I was just happy they built it for me and i didnt have to mess with it this time.

Ya i REALLY like it bro but the blue screens piss me off.....it has improved since vista but i still have to fix some bugs which pisses me off since i shouldnt have to touch it for that price. While the games are working though it is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL thing ive ever seen as far as computer graphics. The Flight Simulator X game ive been playin with is HEAVY on the graphics and it looks INCREDIBLE and plays smooth as ice. Ive had more then one person tell me they couldnt even play it because the graphics were too demanding to play anything but the lowest settings.

I guess my freeze up troubles are part of having the newest shit out.....some bugs need to be found before they can be fixed but i hate to be their damn guinea pig though.

I have a old X 7,00 card which was teh best at its time. Its almost 3 years old and need to be replaced. I like my card alot.

my core clock on my 6600GT is incredible, and the card is about a year old, I play COD2 on it everyday full settings. Looks beautiful. No problems..

Blue screen... are you talking about the ERROR screen? like the blue screen of death? Windows XP shouldnt have the Blue Screen of Death... I Like windows XP more then vista, just cause vista is basically the same with a face life, no really special features that I couldnt get on XP but, I have the Vista transformation pack, makes it look like vista, but runs like XP

actually vista is a little more than that.....it is prettier and i like the 3d window thing (Aero something i think).

i also like the way things like menus, icons and other features look on Vista better then XP. I was scared to make the switch but one of the MAJOR things that swayed me over was DX10. The graphics with DX10 are noticeably better Aint no damn DX10 (just 9c) for XP and no plans for it (weak sauce)

Also, XP did INDEED have the BSOD. I think it has something to do with my drivers though.....ill find out tonite when the technician calls me to straighten this mess out!

hahahah, that is werid. I have never seen something like that with vista... I also havent ever gotten the BSOD on XP... Luck I guess which is something I normally dont have.

on my computer right click then go down to properties, click on the advanced tab, click on settings under start up and recovery then uncheck automatically restart, then yank out your ram and XP will give you a BSOD lol

ps dont yank out your ram it was a joke lol but do what i said before and youll get a BSOD instead of the computer restarting and not showing you the BSOD and error code which is always helpful

well if it makes you feel better, it only takes my computer 38-45 seconds to boot all the way up......my quadcore processor laughs at the stuff you think i should get rid of.

wow typical steve droppin 6k on a high tech computer and getting all A.D.D with the "analog clock thing" lol im just messin with ya.

but yeah windows aero is cool well if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel on it and click on the cascading windows omfg you could be entertained for hours... not that i have done it or anything cough cough

i dont think steve needs to worry about turning off the sidebar i have my sidebar on when im playing games like BF2 and HL2 with a pc about half as good as steves and they run perfectly (tho for some reason on BF2 on night maps with night vision it lags every now and then but whatever)

and 4gb really isnt too big of a waste right now because this vista crap strains your ram like crazy in a year or so 4gb will be necessary to play modern games. Steve i asked my friend about the 4gb situation and he said windows xp didnt really like 4gb of ram with his motherboard either but 4gb of ram works flawlessly on linux which is what he has and he does alot of 3d rendering so he says its helpful for him, but thats just one particular case.
