dustinallen82 Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 This is the amp i have in my car now, i have it hooked up to two Kicker comp 12's at 2 ohms. Occasionally after running at full tilt for 10-15 minutes it cuts off. Now i havent did any voltage upgrades or anything, but what im wanting to know though, is this amp really stable at 1 ohm? It says it is, and I know that before i even tried to get it to one ohm i need to atleast do the big three, but im looking to replace my subs with some that i can wire to one ohm, if i do so will it be cutting out all the time? Thanks for your help, this forum is 'effin awesome!! O yea, the car is a 2000 Lincoln LS, and i dont have a voltmeter so i dont know what kind of drops im looking at, but on my last amp (audibahn) it had a voltmeter built in and it said that i dropped down to 11's sometimes, not very often, but sometimes. I believe the audibahn was a A8000V or something like that.(basic audiobahn shiny junk) Thanks again.

Beanz Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 check your ground.that is the same thing that happend to me also with my hifonics.but i came to figure out it was the fround so make sure to check that. That's why they don't deliver. Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait. You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.
Berto Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 I had a Titan 1508D running at 1 ohm and I never had any problems with it. And I didn't do a big 3 and I was only using 4 gauge wire. Im running 4 gauge, its a very short run considering my battery is stock in my trunk. The ground is four gauge too, and it is grounded to where the factory subwoofer amplifier used to be grounded too, so i dont think the ground is the problem. Its a very rare occurence, probably happened three times in the last 4 months that ive had the amp. Eventually i will upgrade the big three to 0 gauge, just broke as shit now. Anybody out there hiring!! lol (been laid off since October last year)
