Looks to me like a revamped version of the old 9881, last deck i had...very nice for the price. Alpine are great...very easy to use.

my CDA-9884 which is very similar to this one has worked flawlessly since I got it.

it gets shook to death on lows and still performs like it should.

I will admit the iPod search could be a little easier but thats just me.

Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple

i own a 9886 and i love it. not as many EQ settings as im used to with pioneer but i like it.

only downfall with the model you stated is the preouts are only 2v

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

Yeah it takes forever scrolling thru 700 songs when you cant remember what the artist is. haha

try 9,000  but they have made a feature that is like a percentage jump so you click 1 on the deck and it goes to the song that is 1/6 of your collection.

makes searching a little better.

ya, ive had a couple older alpines n from what ive piddled with em not many eq adjustments n low voltage rcas but the internal amp is strong as hell, it does every bit of what it should n then some, u could almost run a componit set on it without any amp if u wanted to, but the volume only goes to 30 so thats a downfall or the ones i had did, but then again the way u set ur gains a max of 30 could be the same as a max of 62 lol

i like pioneers a lil better but to each his own

it is the basic of basic headunit from alpine. nothing fancy nor any bells or whistles. I do Alpine only here, well....some Kenwood, but looking at other radios out there, Pioneer will give you more for the money. I would say that the Alpine would last longer and be better all the way around, however the one we did (105) would not accept a CD

All of the higher end alpines; 9883, 9885(07) 9884, 9886, 9887(08-current) have 4v outs and pretty much all of the 08 and up have IMPRINT support built in.
