frustraded with head unit and amp.. NEED HELP!!

Recommended Posts

Ok so yesterday i picked up an audiobahn a200v to run my front door speakers.. So i get up today to install it and i had to take the back seat out wire everything how i thought it should be and anyways took me 4 hours.. so finally i got it wired and turned on the head unit and my front speakers sounds like shit!! so this is how i wired it.. I bought a wiring harness when i first got my system and today i put the speaker wires from the amp to the wiring harness.. I think that may be my problem.. cause i can turn the amp off and still here some sound from the speakers.. should i have cut the factory harness and wired it into that?? or did i do it right?? what could my problem be???

DUDE RUN YOUR AMP WIRES TO THE SPEAKERS NOT THE HARNESS

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

? what the heck? from the amp TO the wire harness? I have not seen but a few speaker installs by other people but I haven't seen that?? Why didn't you just run it from the amp straight to the speakers? I think that would have been easier and more efficient. edit:fail @ spelling :P

That would be the best way to do it i know and i dont wana sound like a dumb ass but it would be really hard to do on my truck bc.. first of all i couldnt hide the wires bc there is the rubber thing on the side that the wire runs through and to get it to that... i dont even know how.. second of all i dont have much wire.. Is there a way to run through the factory harness??

I don't know man, I haven't ever seen that before. Pull up the carpet and run it under there

well then ditch the amp and run it on your factory harness.casue theres no way you could run the amp with the factory harness.now just go buy some wire at a local car shop and run it down near the doors.just remove the plastic thingy. If not your best step is to get a shop to do it for you and run the wire for you.

Hes talking about the boot from door to cab. Fish tape will work. Running the amp to the harness is for sure your problem.

There are a couple of ways of trying to run it like you are thinking, well really one, you would have to make sure you cut the door speakers wires out of the harness, and then tie your amp wires into those wires for the door speakers so the only signal would be coming from the amp and not from the amp and HU, if you did that you would be ok, but it would be best for you to run the wires from the amp to the speakers in the door, you will have to pull away the carpeting and trim panels around the door to get to be able to see your grommet or rubber boot, and then fight the wires through there, metal close hanger and electrical tape works well for me when snaking wires. Hope that helps and not confuses..
