I did something similar with a pair of $20 Walmart 6x9's, a used $20 amp that output about 50x2 @ 4 ohms (best guess based on what I found, the amp was in excellent shape), and a small lawn mower battery. I could play for up to 4 hours on a full charge. Believe it or not, it beat pretty good. It massaged my back very well . But it was quite heavy. I even added an ipod charger and play time only dropped to 3 hours. I need to get another battery, the components are scattered around my house and it's just missing a battery and some new wire.
