Eolly Posted August 30, 2009 Report Share Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) I have been thinking for a week or so about building a box for my old skool kicker xpl12. So I went today and bought the stuff to get the job done. I used the re box calc to design the box. I used the specs from kicker and since the sub is designed for a sealed box I just zeroed the port measurements out. According to Kicker I needed 1.5 cu feet of air space. I started just putting numbers in until I got the right amount. It ended up 16x14x14x14. This is the old box its a old walmart special from like 4 years ago. Here is the new box being cut and build. I forgot to get pictures of the hole being cut. I used a rotozip since the only router available to me is like 400 years old. I have become a master cutter with the rotozip tho so the hole is only slightly larger. Here is a video of it apparently my crackberry really likes high notes. The song choice wasnt the greatest but my ipod decided to not locate 200 songs this morning and I didnt have time to track them down. Ill try to get a better video and song later today. Eolly Posted August 30, 2009 Author Report Share Posted August 30, 2009 Good job on the box, why not ported though? That model of speaker kicker says to not port it will sound better in a sealed box.
