  1. looks cool and gets real good and loud! those subs seem to be pretty decent
  2. not bad at all. a jigsaw works just fine as long as the holes in the mounting ring dont hit air :-)
  3. it is certainly doable as long as the L7 has its own amp, and the mtx's have their own. an angled box design like you have will work as long as you have at least 1 cubic foot internal for each twelve and keep it sealed. you dont have alot of space from what I see, and the ports in your drawing are way too big.
  4. good job on that box. looks pretty decent. we need more people doing true budget builds. over the years i hooked up a few subs to a c.d player direct. haha. good times
  5. Looks like some cheap fun. keep us posted on the pics and results of your box.
  6. well you are looking at 6.6 cubic feet not counting the port, and a slot thats 3.5 wide does tune to 32 hertz. thats way too big for just 2 10's though. adding 2 or even 4 more would be more ideal. but 4 10's would sound pretty good in that box.
  7. Always wanted to do this. Loudest I've had throught my 15 or so years playin around got me a 143.3 or something like that with a pair of 15's in a ford truck. I want 10 more db's, and im going to cut the shit out of this car until i get what i want for airspace. Its gonna be brutal, but thats okay i only paid $50 for it. This is literally day one shit..all i've done is pull out the back seat, break off the wood peice that "seals" the back of the seat brace from the trunk. Tons of measuring as well. If i have to also cut a big ass hole in the trunk..its going to happen even if it only gets me the 1.5 cubic feet extra that ive measured. haha. Looking at a 200 A alternator from irragi . Plan is either 3 15's, or 2 18's and 2500 rms. Kinetic batteries are in the plans. Going to be a slow build from nothing..so stay tuned if you are into that sort of thing.
  8. what subs do you have..how much power do you have and how much room
  9. cool to see an old xpl. they were pretty good back in the day
  10. not counting port volume or woofer displacement you are sitting at 8.77 cubic feet. might be better for 2 15's. but thats up to you. 9 inch wide port internally and 9 inches from the back wall gets you 37 hz. tuning
  11. i would go for the audioque 2.5 series 10's. awesome subs and they are only $129 each
  12. you wont get much deep bass and you might crank the volume up too high tryin to get it. and pop your sub maybe
  13. good way to break the park pin in the tranny.lol
  14. try the reaudio enclosure calculator http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html used it lots..good results.
  15. if the seats fold down all the way and you have the room..facing the sub(s) and port forwards gets rid of some trunk rattle..and shakes the floor pretty good. tends to not be as high pitched at certain bass notes usually as opposed to facing back
  16. 75 hertz tuning would sound like a 60's paper cone 6.5" in a door. be high pitched and punchy. you would hate it. 40hz is a good overall tuning usually
  17. that picture is of a 10 or 12 inch sub. you can tell. the magnet wont be near as impressive on a 15. they are a cheap sub, and if they have warranty go for it.
  18. even 2 audioque 2200 would be less that 900. that would hit good for sure
