I just finished my first box, cut the holes for the 2 12's and ive noticed that in the process, the wood has created a few partial cracks on the subwoofer cutout, how could i fix this?

should I add another layer by gluing and screwing in some screws to secure it and just have a double layer of 3/4" mdf?

let me know thanks

it looks okay, but i just want to make it extra supportive, so could i just blue and screw in another layer and have a total thickness of 1.5" of mdf, would it change the tuning of the box alot?

thats a good question, I have different reason for adding a second sheet, but would it change the tuning of the box?

how about some picture of what your seeing and I dont think gluing on another layer on the baffle will affect it your not changing the inside dimensions and the subs are not going to be raised up to much to affect it

I have been toying with the idea to gain a couple ^inches..is it not worth it, I am short on airspace as it is in my box...sorry for a TJ but its to similar to start a new thread over...

to OP, I would some pics to see how bad the cracks are...but you may need to redo the top panel, or you can to use glue or something to help keep together...
