Sealing box off from the trunk

So this is a question for the guys that have there subs firing into the cabin, what do you use to seal the extra spaces around the box? I recently put my box firing towards the cabin in my 03 Grand Am(seats fold down) and the current box I have has about 1-1.25 inch gap around the box, when I get around to building a new box, it will fit much tighter then the current one, so air escaping back into the trunk wont be as major of an issue, and will be an easier fix. So give me some ideas guys, I know I could do duct tape, and while it works great for that I would like it to look nice, so I was thinking of cutting some wood to shape then wrapping it in carpet to seal the gaps. Anyways throw some ideas my way, so I may consider some other options.

When I did my old monte carlo with the subs firing in I made trim panels and used great stuff to seal the gaps between...
