What kind of power handling difference do the alum/copper coils have?

Thanks.

from what i read the copper can take like max 1500 rms (pushing it)and the alum ones can take like 2500 rms

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

Okay, well. I am giving my hdc315's 2k each daily, have 2, so a total of 4k wrms daily; they're copper. I know people who have given the coppers 3k wrms daily. Now, i also know people with correct electrical, box, etc.. 4k wrms to 1 18" alum. coil hdc3. I mean, i have heard from multiple people that coppers handle power just as well as the alums. but i honestly couldnt tell you. i run the coppers on 2k wrms each, and they rarely get warm...

mmk, i was planning on getting 2 10's with there 2200D amp for both, so it wouldn't be seeing that much power. but wanted to check.

Most people will say the coppers are from 1-2kw. Aluminums aren't meant for anything less than 2kw and upwards of 3500 if you know what you're doing. Know 2 people running those subs, 1 has 4 15" Aluminums on 4 2200d's and the other HAD 4 12" coppers on a maxximus. All in your knowledge and box design.

A 2200 on 2 10's is just fine for a daily beater. They can take more but thats a good amount of power for em. AQ's amps are slightly underrated so depending on your electrical and whatnot, 24-2500 isn't out of the question

what would you recommend for that then? just the copper?

and figured i'd upgrade front bat and add a battery in the back of my cab.

For that power yes the coppers. They sound better and honestly, the 2200 would be about right for a single aluminum if not more power lol.
