kentb
Hey and while I'm tripping on Graphics cards, why is their a few, like this one > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102837 ......that have no cover on them, and look uglier than shit ? Nobody seems to care I guess, as this one gets great reviews, and it's only $125 too ! Come on guys...... I can see myself being up till' 2am again, beating myself to death over Graphics cards...... Freaking AADD Fish that one is a 4850, and for about the cover, it depends on the brand of the video card(example, sapphire, powercolor, evga), its their decision on what cover/heatsink/fan to put on on their video cards. take at look at this article, tomshardware is very reliable. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-g...-card,2362.html should guide you well. edit: changed the link Edited September 4, 2009 by kentb Quote New System 2 10" Fi SSD, Sundown 1500d Build I build and design enclosures(cheap price), PM ME Kicker L7 Navigator(plexiglass, fiberglass, aeroport) Build BTL 18" Escalade(plexiglass, battery tray) Build http://www.kentbaudio.com Old System

Moti
Hey Fish, Some advice. Don't base your reviews off the reseller's site, sometimes ppl who post on newegg are completely retarded. Also I think you went with the wrong setup. For the price of that processor, I would have gone with a AMD Phenom II X4 955 and some amd or nvidia chipset mobo. The reason I would advise AM3 over socket 775, is because amd is doing stuff with it whereas intel is just phasing it out. But anyways nonetheless, your setup will be faster than an average persons computer. Good choice on the psu, seasonic designs some nice stuff. An for that ram to work at 1066, I hope you know that you have OC to achieve that. Peace, Moti Edited September 4, 2009 by Moti

Fish Chris
Yes, those charts were helpful. I had looked at one earlier (tons of great reviews) but was bummed it was out of stock...... Then I finally noticed that it had been replaced with this one; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102849 So, unless somebody, or something stops me, I'm going to order this one first thing in the morning Peace, Fish here's another one, benchmark charts.http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gaming-...out-3,1445.html edit: be careful on the the chart, when it says SLI or Crossfire, it means its running 2 video cards

Fish Chris
Hey Moti Don't base your reviews off the reseller's site, sometimes ppl who post on newegg are completely retarded. I could not agree more ....but I feel like I'm pretty good at reading between the lines, and picking out the tid-bits of good info, mixed in with all the loads of crap LOL The ones that get me are like > I got this XXXX and the box was destroyed. Unit was DOA, so I'm rating it 1 Egg" ! Uhhh, hello ! Is their really any PC stuff that can handle Fed Ex or UPS on their hardest "package kicking" days ??? Or better yet > I got this XXXX, then found out it was not compatible with my XXXX, so that makes it a 1 egger < Huh ? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oh but hey, you said An for that ram to work at 1066, I hope you know that you have OC to achieve that Hmmmm. You know this is 'not' 800MHz memory, right ? OCZ claims (and a couple reviews confirmed) that this memory will run at 1066, on the low "standard" of 1.8 volts..... and stay surprisingly cool while doing it. One guy was actually using 8gigs of it, in "my exact" MBO, and he said, he supposed he could overclock it to 1200MHz or something crazy, but he really just didn't have any need for that kind of speed. Heck, OCZ even makes 1150 and 1200MHz memory, that they claim can do that at 1.8 volts too ! Peace, Fish PS, Hey Moti, I know you said you don't trust the reviews much..... but a couple of these guys seem to know more than I do, and none of them seem to have anything bad to say about this memory..... except the one guy who said he couldn't get 4 sticks stable at 1066, but still rated it 5 Eggs ? Hmmmm. Great Choice, even faster. Edited September 4, 2009 by Fish Chris
kentb
get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814150394 cheaper and has lifetime warranty! and i trust this brand (XFX) more than sapphire Quote New System 2 10" Fi SSD, Sundown 1500d Build I build and design enclosures(cheap price), PM ME Kicker L7 Navigator(plexiglass, fiberglass, aeroport) Build BTL 18" Escalade(plexiglass, battery tray) Build http://www.kentbaudio.com Old System
newls1
get this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814150394 cheaper and has lifetime warranty! and i trust this brand (XFX) more than sapphire 100% truth...... Even though there is really no difference between on companies GPU to the other, it is the warranty that makes the buyer feel better, and XFX has a great warranty and price on that card. XFX entered into the ATi market about 7-9 months ago (Since the 48xx GPU was such a success) and XFX was the first company to offer a lifetime warranty on a ATi based GPU.
