07mazda3s
i dont know a whole lot about the specks of tuning boxes, but, check with SSD 18 specks and see what cubes they recommend and try to aim around there.Facing rear is nice way to go, Facing up would also be nice, either way will work really. you can try it out both ways if your able to rotate the box when its in the trunk.. Good luck on building! =D Post up the Build! I'd face it toward the rear because of that board you got your 6x9s mounted in. If you face that thing up at the board and show it some wattage all you are gonna hear is it rattling the fuck out of that board, my rear deck is the same way. I'd say unless your taking that shit out definately face it toward the rear, if you are taking it out build a ported box CRX style and it will slam like no other. That board will have to be removed since it is sitting only 16 inches from the floor lol. I have 18 inches from the rear of my seat to the hatch so i dont really have enough room to do CRX style. Derrick824
sorry for asking so many questions guys were trying to figure this out tonight. May be able to start tommorow or monday. 30x20x15= 5.2ft3.Does that sound about right ?? for a sealed. I'm guessing those are external dimensions, right? If so then you still need to subtract for the width of the wood being used. Assuming its 3/4" MDF then your internal measurement for the usable air space will be 28.5x18.5x13.5 = 4.1ft before displacement. Then you'll have to subtract the displacement of the subwoofer, bracing, or anything else that gets built or mounted inside the box. Allowing 0.25ft for that stuff you'll be looking at 3.85ft of usable air space.

Derrick824
It'll be like this except instead of a wiring a 4ohm dvc to 8ohms you'll be wiring a 1ohm dvc to 2ohms. Edited April 15, 2007 by Derrick824

07mazda3s
Even if youre going sealed I would still design it so the sub points up. You are only gonna lose spl by vibrating the shit out of your hatch. I'd point it up if it was my car.
