LulzChicken
Alright guys, I have an adventure I want to go on. I recently sold my 1998 Suburban and I had some king kong in there but, I took it out. Right now, I'm just looking and waiting for someone to buy it but, I figured in the meantime I could hook it up to my computer speakers in the house? I'm not certain how this would work and all with the amp - power - ground etc.. but, I assume it is possible isn't it? My theory is that maybe a box plugged into the wall, I plug my 4 gauge wire into that, and then into the amp - and go from there. Does anyone have any opinions or options as to how I would do this? Setup: Very large ported box 2 Diamond D3 15" subwoofers 1 Kicker ZX 1000.1 amp - certified @ 1,273 watts 4 gauge wire etc etc.. How it looked in the car - Edited September 7, 2009 by LulzChicken
THEKINGsBACK
My theory is that maybe a box plugged into the wall, HELL NOOOOOOO >>>> go to youtube and see what happen when u plug a sub into a socket... Quote he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:

LulzChicken
I didn't mean plug it directly into the socket. My ideas is that there may be a device that you plug into the wall, and then plug your power wire into that device, and then it goes to your amp. Wall>Device>Power Wire>AMP>Subs

LulzChicken
Think He Means A 12volt Transformer! Am I? Any idea where I can grab one of those? Or whats up.. I'm not even sure how I'll get the signal from my computer to the amp - I know using RCA's but, I'm not sure how to do that.
white4d96
Does your amp have hi-level inputs? If so you could run signal from the wire going to your comp speakers to the sub amp maybe...not sure how that works tho. Quote Too many projects, too little time... eaglescorpio1
High current ac to dc converter......Converter will plug directly into wall socket. Possitive lead from converter to amp, same with negative for power. Run speaker cables from amp to subs. for signal, if your home audio video unit has a sub out, use that and some y adapters from av unit to amplifier.
