Why do songs hit harder when they are slowed?

Damn, that low must sound pretty sweet when slowed

slowing a song lowers the frequency of the notes. doesnt always necessarily mean it'll hit harder. some slowed songs i have dont hit as hard. they'll just play lower. in some cases that just happens to help hit harder
