iTech
Alright so I have a regular ole' Dell Dimension 2400. I was wondering what hardware I could buy to make it faster(Loading up, switching programs, etc.) Give me options from cheapest to most expensive. As of now I have some restore cd's that are on the way to restore this beauty to original condition but just wanted to know how to make it faster. Team_DC-Derrick
go to run, or the little open bar on the windows logo thing, and type in MSconfig from there, go into services and click hide all microsoft services, and disable everything that you DONT need in there.. pretty obvious on what you do and dont, if you know the programs on your computer. then go into the Startup menu on that same Msconfig and disable the rest of the bullshit that you dont need, and it will speed it up tremendously Quote The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... Lymerock
you could also try running a program like gamebooster which basically turns off everything thats running the background not a fix all, but will speed things up if a certain program you like to run lags the system down

Almost nothing is runnin' but it's still pretty slow sometimes. How about upgrading the processor? Does it have to be a specific one for this computer?
