well folk christmas will be comin up soon and i want to treat myself to a really good set of components. i like my highs to be a little subdued but clear, i hate when tweets sound like they are screaming at you. heres a rundown of my system now memphis belle mch1300, two fi 12's and i have tma 6.5components in the front and kicker in the rear and jvc avx800 head unit. and these speakers are really starting to irritate me. the price limit is between 300-400 bucks. any suggestions?

You should also check out Focal. I've heard entry level to midrange of both hertz and focal and they both sound really good.

I would go with focal though.

CDT is one of the most affordable for all different listening levels.

I have heard that Focal's lowest end speaker is better than some of other companies high end speakers

Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple

well so much for narrowing it down lol. but if i'm not mistaken only one person has actually heard these speakers, and yeah i did forget focal. a local dealer has some focal stuff. i guess rainbow ships to us? the website i came accross is german. let me rephrase this has anyone actually heard these mids in a moderately powered system like mine? and what are your thoughts? brite highs? good midbass etc... thanks for the replies so far.

ive listened to hertz and diamond... both make great components... focal makes amazing speakers...

focal is top notch and level of speaker....

but to pick between hertz and diamond would come down to what im looking to achieve with that set up...

and just a thought why not try putting your components on a amp first... yours will sound a hell of alot better

Full eclipse system is next on list.. soon to gut and redo the honda as new project/rolling buissness card :)

i miss the sound of those old school strokers on beast amps :(

sorry i forgot to mention that the component sets i am currently running are amped. the memphis mch1300 is a five channel amp, and i am using all channels. i guess what i am trying to achieve is for the mids to be a little more clear, and the highs should be quieter so that they compliment the mids not over power them. like a really good set of home speakers or some nice headphones the voices and guitars drums etc are complimented by a little tweet. but i think focal and hertz are going to be my two main choices.

about the hertz, whats the best line to run with a 300w 2ch amp?

i want good mid/midbass but still clean highs, my buddies shop sells hertz n dd now n i was lookin at the hertz, witch ones are the grey ones with the ripple surround? those looked sick, but not tryin to get off topic but hertz should be a good brand, he's susposto be buildin a distplay so i can hear em sometime later

im leanin more twards sql now than just how loud i can go, if my house stereo can hit every note my car system should

i kinda want the overall sound kinda like u get from skullcandy headphones
