AlpineGuy87
Ok, so i have DARK blue and black interior.. I want to Change... - AC/Heat vents to a glossy black instead of dull black.. - Some of my other black parts i want to add the black GLOSS to it instead of dull black.. well pretty much, overall.. any black parts i have, i want to take them, and coat them in a black gloss/shiney color.. Any ideas on painting these.. they are already SMOOTH parts, i want to do it without sanding.. SO.. this is what i WANT TO DO.. Prime paint, Black Paint, Gloss/Clear Paint... any ideas on what I could use to Prime, Paint, Gloss? Quote 06 SCION tC
roscoe1129
Wow U have a lot of work ahead of u dude....its not too hard just gotta make sure u use a cleaner on all parts to pull out all armorall, etc.... out of the plastic. I like using bulldog plastic cleaner. It also has an abrasive compound in it to "rough" up the surface so that ure paints will stick. Dont forget the plastic coat adhesion promoter and take ur time. then any idea if ur using rattle can if so any type will work pick ur favorite.... good luck! Guest MegaloManiac
Why gloss? Your are going to want to actually Dye the plastic so it wont come off.... Autozone should have the paint i used the brand Duplicolor.but mine is flat
roscoe1129
there is a plastics adhesion promoter out ther you should use before priming, I want to say its made by or called plastic coat, but Im sure the bulldog stuff works just as good. it comes out clear. then use regular primersealer and paint. u can also use a clear to protect the paint. just not so much unless u want it really shiny. AlpineGuy87
well.. the color/look i'm looking to get from it, is like the similar look to painted fiberglass with a shine.. Like.. not necessarily GLOSSY finish, but a shiny smooth finish. I'll try to find a picture or something to show... Quote 06 SCION tC

AlpineGuy87
Thats pretty cool man!!! I like the idea you did with the head unit spot, what type of molding did you use to add that nice smooth finish there. I like it, i think i might consider something with that effect man. looks really nice. Quote 06 SCION tC
