Why He's Hot:

His single, "Icy" has become a huge hit (debuted at #24 on Billboard Hot Rap Song Charts), and his album, "Trap House," which came out the day he was released on $100,000 bond for murder charges, has been eagerly anticipated by gangsta rap music fans.

Why He's in Trouble:

Gucci Mane is being accused of murder, in connection with a body that was found near a school in Decatur, Georgia. The rapper maintains that he was simply defending himself. He turned himself in to authorities, and was released on a $100,000 bond. As of December 2005, the murder charges against Gucci Mane were dropped.

The Jeezy Connection:

Young Jeezy partially wrote and performed on Gucci Mane's hit single, "Icy." Supposedly, Jeezy was never paid properly for his services. Those in Gucci Mane's camp are suggesting that gang members from the Macon area attacked Gucci Mane to defend Young Jeezy's honor.

Gucci Mane Denied Bond:

Gucci Mane remains in jail until January 2006, as a judge denied the popular rapper bond on the outstanding aggravated assualt charge that Mane is facing. With a murder charge hanging over Mane's head from an incident earlier this year, the judge felt that trouble seems to follow the rapper, thus denying him bond this time.
