inm
So, I've just been playing around with Google SketchUp since I know how to use it now... And, I put in the maximum dimensions for a box in my Blazer (as calculated by some others on the forum...) Anyway, max dim: 38x36x17 38 between the wheels wells, 36 from seat to hatch, and 17 to window line... Anyway, I just played around with a design for a box for 2 18"s... I got the shape/design I want, but now I need you guys to help me with the technical stuff... I have no idea how much air space 2 18"s would need, or any of that. If it matters, they would be DC LVL4 18" subs. Anyway, here's what I have: Is there enough air space for them? (Or too much?) If its not enough, I guess I'll just scratch it. If you would like to redesign it to make it work, it would be much appreciated. Here's the SketchUp file, if you want to help. http://rapidshare.com/files/285496305/2-18s.skp Thanks! also, if necessary, the 38x9x17 area could be closed off, for less air space, but again, I don't know how much they need... inm
Forgot to mention... I would want it ported, and tuned to whatever a daily driver should be at... Like... 35ish? So, if someone could take that SketchUp file, and edit in a port for me, that would be great... AI James
you forgot to account for wood thickness on your drawing pretty much everything there is wrong without it

1992Chevy K1500
If you use .75" MDF, you will have about 9.3 cubic feet of airspace. Not enough for the LVL4 18"s. Even if you walled it in (assuming this is the cargo area), you wouldn't have enough airspace for 2 LVL4 18"s. inm
Dang... How about... 2 LVL3 or LVL4 15"s? Either of those? 1992Chevy K1500
Depends on how much airspace the bracing and port take up. I would increase the height an extra 2 inches. Doing that would give you 10.7 cubes of airspace before displacement. 1992Chevy K1500
you can fit 2 lvl 4 15s in back of a blazer ive done it before If he's willing, he could actually fit LVL5's back there. But that's his choice.
