Derrick824 Posted April 23, 2007 Report Share Posted April 23, 2007 I've recently found out that my truck uses a different alternator plug than any previous GM trucks. The problem is I have a 200a alternator with the old style plug. I've tried searching the net without any luck. Derrick824 Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Share Posted April 30, 2007 I stopped by a local alternator shop today and found out that the alt on my '06 is computer controlled. That's why I'm having the voltage issues, because the comp won't let the alt charge all the time. They told me not to try and swap in a new alternator but I would be fine adding the new one as a second alt. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
