They made the same battery for how many years with no improvements on them. You were right, my red top is no better then my stock batt. I'am returning my red top and upgrading my alt putting stock batt back in. No room inside vehicle for a back up batt. I replaced my stock battery today with a red post and it still does the same thing as my stock battey did. It drops the voltage down to around 12 to 13.5 and at night the light go dim.
