Ideas for Specs and Enclosure

Hey guys, i've been recently thinking about making a new box and i'm not sure exactly on the specs for it. Running 2 12' FI Q's and most people have been telling me to get them into a bigger box. I've been leaning more towards a sealed box, because i like the accuracy in the bass. Ported boxes aren't bad, but i think the system will be loud enough without a port :D. I need help on picking the specs for the box. One Q needs .8-1.5 cuft, as said on the company site. So a total of 1.6-3cuft. Seems a bit small dont you think? My earlier specs were W=33", H=14" and D=13", and it comes out to be a rough 3.4cuft. A bit large, but i think it will suffice. Any tips or ideas on the specs or type of enclosure? thanks guy!

if your going to go sealed build it as strong as possible, i would alson give each woofer its own chamber. why no port? ported will get louder ad there not that hard to design. tune it around 35hz and your golden. should still be pretty acurate and louder. but its up to you

To be honest, i don't go for ported boxes because i dont know how to design or tune a port :S. Sealed boxes are much easier for me to picture, just a closed rectangle, all you need are the numbers. I'm sure ported is the same way, but i probably need it explained to me on how the ports are tuned and such. If i ever understand it, i'll probably end up making a ported box

its honestly not that hard, search exposport enclosure calculater or something like that in the forum, im sure someone can chime in with a link, it calculates tuning of the port, and it accounts for sub dispacement and everything, even gives you a cut list. try tuning around 32-35 hz and you should be pretty happy with it. once you builid it once its pretty easy, try a slot port for your first one. not to hard to build
