Marlo Stanfield Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 My first thought was tinsel slap or that it's just bottoming out. Quote 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... thorshammer Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Theres no such thing as tinsel slap on the AQ's or DD's. More than likely its the spider shifted slightly around the cone/former joint and has created a mild coil rub. Had this happen several times with my AQ's. Sub will still play hard. It's just a nasty noise that eventually will kill the sub. This is a severe rub Both of those subs ripped the spiders away from the cone Quote

This is a severe rub Both of those subs ripped the spiders away from the cone thats pretty much it... it also got worse as i played it more at a loud volume... is there anyway to fix this or recone time? Rogers Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 sounds like recone time... once the soft parts defect its pretty much over... ok so here is the deal... option A: If its not under warranty... get your video camera out and hook it up to a light socket... make sure to get a good quality vid for us! and then get your recone... Option B: if it is under warranty... get your free recone... and then see option A...=) Quote http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/79921-rogers-700-dream-car-update-page-17-a-wall/?p=2335774 93 Saturn SC2My system4 SA-15's Walled 2 Cerwin-Vega S2000's 3 Kinetik Hc2000's Dual 200amp alts. you guys done with the peepee touching contest or do I need to end it?
BigPimpin91 Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 Is your gain set properly? because you could be botteming out, and what your hearing is the sub hitting itself. Really hard to do on the AQ's without a ton of power. Mine did this too. Pull it from the box and take a look at the spiders. I found out that the top spiders had torn all the way around and from peak to peak it would pop over to one side or the other. Quote BigPimpin91's Banging Music
