i didnt know were to post this so ill post it here..i just had curiousity to try out my 15 in my other car(96 intrepid) to see how it would sound since it pounds on my trailblazer HARD i aint gonna lie..box is sub up port back tuned to 30hz. and yesterday i was bored so i was experimenting shit out..LOL...so i get my sub inside the car(box was to big and didnt fit from the outside UGH!!)so had to cut the metal from my rear seats. was a pain in the ass!!..so i finally get it in..played with it for a while and i noticed it aint as loud as in the SUV..i switched the box 2 ways.port facing rear only got MORE rattles and didnt get alot of bass. so switched it to port facing foward(inside) and it was like if i had a 8' or 10's in there with 300watts in my car..i was like "thats it"???..a 15 on 2k rms in a trunk should be twice as loud i think than in a SUV..so after that got it thinking is it time for a new box?.sub foward port foward???..or i dont know what else to think of..

has any of you guys had problems like this?..i seen a couple of people that have 15's facing up port up and it pounds on a trunk..and my box that has the port facing inside the car i dont get that much bass..what could it be??..

man a suv gets louder then a trunk period. you can get a trunk loud, but it takes alot more work.

99.9% of trunk cars like sub(s)/port(s) firing either both towards rear or sealed off from the trunk firing into the cabin...

Also big trunk cars are the hardest vehicles to get loud and SUV aren't lol.

all trunk cars are different. unless you know someone with the same car all you can do is try. heres a few examples, my wifes alero does best with sub and port firing forward. i did a 01 grand prix and it liked sub and port back, i did an 05 cadillac deville and it loved sub up port back. all you can do is build and test.

In a trunk car I would never face subs/ports upwards.
