corylan Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 Ok I have narrowed this down a lil bit here... (How the problem started) I have several different amps and speakers and was letting a buddy of mine borrow my 800w Powerbass amp while I was using my JVC and I over heated the JVC one night. So I doecided to put the powerbass back in my truck the next night. When i switched out the amps i grounded out my and and hooked up all other wires and then proceeded to hook up my power wire as soon as I touched the power wire to my amp power terminal it blew the 2 fuses on my amp... Now I know the amp works perfectly so i tried unhooking all of my other wires except ground rem and power... same thing happend... so i ran a new ground wire to a new location and a new power wire and rem same thing so I went and got my 1000w kenwood same thing, tried my 750w ligthning audio same thing what is causing this problem please anyone know?
andym85 Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 your power wire has got to be grounding out somewhere or all the amps are screwed....which i HIGHLY doubt and im moving this to the amp secion i likes me some audio stuff...

It could be a really shitty ground, but it does sound like a power wiring grounding out. 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... QX56 is staying stock til I get loud...
