CallMeTy Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 i see alot of people here recommend these. so what features/numbers do you look at when looking for comps and/or coax's. i know i chose type r setup before i knew about the quarts but what is it that makes them so good, (i know this sounds like a dumb question) and how much better are these over the type r's. i hope you guys understand what im trying to ask cuz im not bashing the quarts or anything, just trying to get a better understanding of what to look for when looking for speakers 1999 Altima 5spd HU: Alpine CDA-9887 Frnts: CDT audio 6.5 Components Rears: Alpine Type R 6.5 Components Speaker Amp: DAT HR4125 Subs: 2 AQ HDC3 15's coming soon Sub Amps:(2)US MD2D Wiring: Stinger

white4d96 Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 I inadvertently had a pair of their lower level 5.25" coax's (ECA-113 or EKA-113) on almost FIVE TIMES rms power for awhile and with an 80Hz high-pass they never complained (they were rated at 35rms and getting 140ish.) They still work great and I am running them off HU power in my car (sold the 2ch. they were on) Too many projects, too little time...

CallMeTy Posted October 28, 2009 Author Report Posted October 28, 2009 so if i wanted to go with mb quart what line should i look at? or what are some of the other brands on the same level as mb quart. i checked out hertz and focal but unless i didnt look at the right place, or the right series they are expensive. 1999 Altima 5spd HU: Alpine CDA-9887 Frnts: CDT audio 6.5 Components Rears: Alpine Type R 6.5 Components Speaker Amp: DAT HR4125 Subs: 2 AQ HDC3 15's coming soon Sub Amps:(2)US MD2D Wiring: Stinger
