MAJOR DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 10'S AND 12'S

Recommended Posts

not sure what you looking for here but 12"s get louder. well... for most people.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

Big difference would be the amount of cone area per woofer, hope that helps... *sarcasm*

This is wayy to vague of a question to ask... What sub(s)/power/enclosure type/etc.

With the proper power, enclosure, electrical, etc 18s, 15s, and 12s can all be just a 'punchy' as any other smaller woofer.

You're referring to something that the uneducated, almost, enthusiast believes is true.

KingSUV's/ Melissa's F-250, when he has the bandpass box in, is a prime example of this... Ever heard the double bass of rock music out of 2 18's off ~7k.... It is the shit.

Both would be ported. The 10's would be ported at 35hz. The 12 would be ported at 40hz. Looking for more SQL.

First, that still didn't answer a single question I brought up to try to help u.

Second, why would you change the tuning just because of the size of the woofer??

All things being equal with proper air space, what are some of the differences between 10's and 12's. I know 10's can get deep with the right porting but what are some other differences?

12s are two inches bigger, lol

there really arent that many differences when comparing the same model... otherwise the company couldnt call it the same model

most companies use the same motor for 10-18", the major difference being that since the cone of a 10" is so much smaller its fs is higher than that of the 18"

that is why 10s are more punchy and 18s are deeper, or at least thats a general consensus... but its rooted in the weight of the moving parts of the speaker and that a 18" cone and suspension is heavier than a 10" of the same model

dont listen to random tuning suggestions, lol.... too many variables for there to be a constant

tune to 40hz and play white girl on some cheap sonys and watch u bottom out and sound like crap

tune to 40hz with a dd 9500 on white girl and it will be fine and sound fine
