Looks like my system will be on hold for a while.

Recommended Posts

Well, long story short, I injured my back about 11 years ago. It's bothered me off and on since then, but two weeks ago I reinjured it, extremely bad this time. I thought I was going to have to go to the ER because I couldn't walk for a few hours that night. Anyway, I had an MRI done earlier this week, and they found something. I'm not sure what just yet. I'll call the doctor's office back here in a little bit and see if I can find anything out.

Anywho, it appears that I will be off work for an indetermined amount of time (thank God for Short and Long Term Disability). My checks won't be what they usually are, so my system will be on hold for the forseeable future. Luckily I only have one more payment left on my truck, so there's an extra $280 a month.

I should have known something like this would happen since I decided to get back into car audio. :censored:

Thank God everyday that you have recovered the ability to walk, I didn't, and make sure you get several different doctors to look at you before you commit to anything. Sometimes their opinions vary greatly. Definitely, take care of your back

Thanks guys.

I finally got ahold of the doctors office, and it seems that I have mild to moderate compression of T12. I have an appointment tomorrow to talk about going to a specialist. I'm still kicking myself for not doing this years ago, but I guess hindsight is always 20/20. I'm definately going to get this thing taken care of now. I can't keep going on like this, especially since I do work a physically demanding job. Plus, I'd like to get back to weight training one of these days.

Yeah, that's the same thing I had. A compression at T6. Here's my MRI.

Blue_C1500-If you don't mind me asking, what did you do to your back?

I got my MRI results back today. Without posting all the medical jargon, I've basically got two bulging discs and an old compression of one vertebra. I'm being refered to a neurosurgeon for treatment. My wife and I both did a bunch of research tonight and it looks like treatment will most likely include physical therapy, chiro, etc. Hopefully I can get this thing nipped in the bud soon and get back to work (never thought I'd say that :shok: ).
