jhmeg2
I been kicken the idea around about the same thing, in a sense. I need to remove my kicks (q-forms), hushmat the inside of em cause i'm getting resonation bad, then add a litle polly fill to em. then I need to mat the metal in the kick its self. then with the midbass in the doors, i have the door dampened very well, but I was thinking... if i use the little foam basket pod things, and give em a coat of glass and a little hushmat, would that give me better response and deaper midbass? what do yous guys think. Neel
I would not run them in a sealed enclosure if it is a midrange (playing anything above 500Hz or so). If it’s a midbass (playing around 500Hz and under) maybe, but there really is no need. Just deaden your doors good and with most decent component sets you will have plenty of midbass. Running them in a sealed enclosure is going to make them less efficient and hurt the upper end frequency response. Ok Where is this information coming from? How can you give enclosure advice if you dont what drivers he is using? Please explain how running them in a sealed enclosure will hurt their high end response? I am tired of the lack of knowledge being spread lately. Quote Too Much Stuff to list .

skittlesRgood
i just did a test the day i asked this question. i had some 6" pvc laying around so i took my speaker baffel and use some caulking to arratch it to the pvc. the on the other end i made a plug out of mdf. the plug was tight but i could knock it forward and backward to change the size of the enclosure. i kept going bigger till it sounded good. found out it had to be much too big for me to make an enclosure in the door. my doors are very well deadened and the big holes are sealed up. im still disapointed about its midbass.
