BanginOnABudget Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 im thinking about drivers and tweeters for an 86 hardbody i might get, these would screw onto the doors via factory speaker mount and a screw under the tweeter. they would be fiberglassed then wrapped with somewhat matching vinyl. would use 3/4 mdf, with bass blocker on tweet drivers would be a peerless 5.25" poly cone woofer and a jamo 1" soft dome tweet cost about $50 per door whatcha think? how would it sound? woofer: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl....tnumber=299-235 tweeter: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl....tnumber=299-937 im taking out my passenger seat, battery is disconnected, going to unwire and take out the three amps, take out the 70+ lb box, then the platform so i can crimp 1 wire. Almost as bad as those fegs that put those horns in their grills and roll down the street distorting the block.... 1990 Jeep Cherokee 2 Dr. Big-3 in 0g on Stock Alt. Pioneer 6.5" and 5.25"s temp. until i can afford the new crescendos. Pioneer 6000ub Reciever NO amps at the moment. SA-15 on 1kw coming soon. MSG Me for a free enclosure design!! Flared port kits coming soon!!
Neel Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 extremely low end drivers in a very poor enclosure ... it will sound terrible. first focus on sound , then on looks . Too Much Stuff to list .
Cr@sh Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I would agree that cheaper end drivers is a bad way to go, however the enclosure looks fine to me. By the way Banging, how do you plan on crossing them over...Active or passive? My old install at cardomain, never finished!
