Box Size for 2 18" BTL's

Finally came to the conclusion of the components I want to use, and the number of each. The first idea was 4 BTL's with a RF 2500bd amp running each, that idea has failed as the area I have to work with would not allow the box size necessary. So now my question to you guys..

I was planning on Walling 2 18's with 2 RF 2500bd's running each.. So all up, 2 18's and 4 2500 monos.. Would the box have to be a bit smaller than that recommended by FI? Also I have written down 200 sq inches for the port? Sounds about right ay?

Shoot me some ideas im willing to listen to everything

Thats a shit ton of power you're planning on running to those subs, you're most likely not going to get any extended listening to those subs running 5k rms to each one. I would think about doing a little less port area. You might be better off building a bigger more efficient enclosure, and sticking to only 1 2500 per sub. two per sub is overkill, and I would have a few recones on hand, as you'll need it.

Had a few people tell me thats overkill with the power I was planning.. Might drop it to 1 amp per sub, Would handle it a little better!

Could always upgrade later to more power, different subs and all that crap. So what size cuft per sub would you recommend? around 8 after displacement with a 180sq port?

Honestly though if u don't have experience with the woofers and really need to ask about box size for a setup like this then I wouldn't suggest you doing so. Just run it on 2500w per woofer and make it easier on yourself. W/ like 5k per 18 then I'd run a very small enclosure for them, like 5-5.5ft3 per woofer. If you're planning on running the 2500w per, then I'd suggest like 6.5-7.5ft3 per woofer.

Sounds like a plan mate! 7ft3 each woofer, 2500 on each. Only reason I was going to 2 on each, was the original plan was 4 18s and 1 on each, then thought id do 2 18s with the same power.. These subs are a hell of alot different to things ive done in the past, good to get some constructive criticism.

Make sure you got the power to back those 2500's up, they are no joke

Those 2500's can pull. I would recommend around 6 to 7.5 cu ft per sub. One 2500 per sub. Then when you break them in for a few months or so. You can throw 2 2500s, one master one slave per sub. Just be careful when you do. And listen for the subs straining under power. I was planning on 2 IA Warden 18's and one 2500 per for a few months then puttin another 2500 later. Those 2500's can do up to 3300 watts. So you will be doin over 6k when you master/slave them.

Power plant would be 2 upgraded alternators, to be able to upgrade the system later without much stuffing around in the bay.. 1 Optima yellow top in the bay, and 5 XS Power 3100a Batteries.

What port size are we looking at with a 7ft3 per sub box? I was thinking around 180 sq?

Electrical wise that will be perfect for those amps and power range. Port area wise I'd suggest like 85-100sq in of port per woofer, anywhere in that range should work just fine.
