Well, I went out to start my car this morning like normal, I turned on my acc and then turned on my deck. After putting my faceplate on I attempted to start my car. I turned the key and everything shut off. I tried my headlights, acessories, and deck. Nothing will work. When I turn my key I get nothing. Is my battery bad? any help appreciated

I was told to take my alt out and get it tested by autozone. If the alt dosent give power thats my problem. If it does its my battery. Is this right

I will jump it after school and see what happens if it runs I will take it to auto zone and get it checked

I had a bad battery terminal to my ground. I got it at Walmart and it was painted all black and I was dumb and just threw it on. My car started up fine and I shut it off. A little while later I had to go to the store and my car wouldn't start, Nothing lit up and the car wouldn't turn over. I had my friend wiggle the ground terminal and I got my lights back on my dash (car was in on position). Well I stripped the paint off and it was all good.

Sorry for the long story.

Moral of the story is that it may be a bad ground.

I would def start with the battery! easier to change and cheaper. Also, they should be able to check your charging system with the alt in the car.
