MickyMcD
A DiGiDesign used for a sports arena show called Relay For Life. I rocked up as part of a team, saw a few buddies running the A/V and ended up chilling and mixing with them. Good night. When we had a D1 for vox and the itty-bitty Venice for the orch pit. Sneaky Sound System playing in a nightclub in AUS. Another rolled up, saw some buddies, mixed story. The PA was WAY too big for the venue. NeXo + Small Nightclub = o lawd. In my avatar is the venue where I used to work until my back went in. Now I only come in for the larger shows. I don't tour anymore either...miss it a bit. Now I do this; ...not really, I work in IT mostly now. I dabble in studio work, and it is very, very difficult to nail that sound exactly. So used to accounting for variables, GBF, your system ceiling etc. When it is just you and tone controls, it is a very difficult skill. Lot's of respect for Studio and O/B guys. Forevrbumpn
looks really good guys, glad there was a thread started on Pro audio, now lets get a section on the forum I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. MickyMcD
Jesus, those studio pics from the both of you are amazing! I do quite envy you both, just sitting in an anechoic environment with your friend, the console. A far cry from the typical gig. Quick, I think the D1 is absolutely amazing. It is flexible, sounds fantastic and I can pass a whole show worth of audio up four MADI interface cables. I do like the internal effects, and the layout just makes sense. And it is light, a far cry from a Heritage 3000, though I will prefere the analogue console for quite some time methinks.
