I set the idle on the engine to 2,000rpms so the alt is putting out as much as possible at idle. Factory warm idle was 600rpm.

yeah i don't know why you would do that... how about a smaller pully for idle amperage

It really doesnt put out nothing below that , it already has a small enough pulley for the 4rib belt. I need more belt rap as it is.

without reading anyone elses posts, with a REAL 300 amp alt depending on how many batteries you have and what size....anywhere from 2,000-15,000 watts

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

You should be fine with what you have listed, you'll prolli get sum minor drops but nothing to really be worried about.
