lvl 4 xl 18's box tuning

What should i tune i box for 2 xl 18's

there is alot more to it than just that....

how big is the box ?

what vehicle ?

what amp?

so forth so on.

95 Civic Coupe

Pioneer AVH-P7600DVD

Kinetik HC-1200 In Front

Kinetik HC-2000 In Rear

Memphis 16-MCA3004

2 X Memphis 16-MCD1000 With Maxxsonics MLX-100

2 X DC LVL 4 XL 12's

Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS In Door's

Kenwood KFC-6982ie In Rear Deck

All Memphis Wire/Rca's and misc.

the boxes dimensions are going to be 42-33-21 and im which comes out to about 8.4 cubic feet per sub before substracting displacment for subs and port, and it is going in the back of a fj cruiser all the way to where it fits through the trunk door which comes to 42 inches roughly

u mulitply the three then divide by 1728 then divide that number by the number of subs. i got this formula off the kicker box building tab on their website.

its 42 inches high, 33 inches wide and 21 inches deep

Personally i would never go that large on a pair of 18s, unless i was putting a god awefully large port in and making a ss no wall box. lol Not for daily though.

and for tuning it depends on what you want from it. Some people like super lows and nothing useful for music, others like a musical tone, and some spl. For example i like sharp tight accurate bass and i have had good luck tuning around 40 Hz to acheive this.
